I am a developer in Tacoma and have been working around the downtown area for years. I can say that Tacoma is a great place, but the area can be diverse from one block to the next. It is a continually changing town and has everything any large city has to offer. If your looking for someone out of town and your out of town too, I would enlist a local realtor or partner. The TPD does offer a community interactive crime page. Although, I have seen some of the better neighborhoods with higher crime rates than the areas I would expect. Good luck!-Chad ... more

How unpleasant is all that? And kudos to Jed in San Fran. I've always said that real estate is an easy field to get into but a difficult one to stay in. I would say your JB guy is working diligently on the latter. I always tell my clients that I cannot force them to be or stay in business with me so that at some point during out agreement (if we are not under contract) if they want to cancel the agreement they first give me the option to fix the situation then second we part ways. J.D. "Dan" & Carol Weisenburger answered:
Hi Julie,

As you can see the methods and rules are different from state to state. Here in Florida there are two components to auctioning a piece of real estate. A licensed auctioneer working for an auctioneer business (also licensed) and a licensed real estate agent (active with a brokerage). The two work hand in hand. The 10% buyer’s premium is typically the method of payment.

Check what is required in Washington State and possibly it may be a viable option for your sellers.
