I can't imagine any landlord ever doing this unless you paid the deposit and full rent for the time up to April 1.

Unfortunately rent is driven by demand and location not age or income. There are those seniors who have other means of income i.e. investments, pensions, annuities, etc. in addition to their SS and can afford to pay the piper.

If that's all you have to work with you will have to lower your expectations about where you want to live. There are places in the Victorville, Apple & Lucerne Valley and Barstow areas that may be a better fit for your limited income.

Hi Linda.

I suppose there are always exceptions but I have yet to find it in the Senior Communities I work. They are very strict and require proof of age before closing escrow to purchase a home. May I suggest that if you have your sites on a particular senior community do your homework first. Call the HOA and see how strict or flexible they might be.
