This unit is on the 3rd floor. Small pets are allowed. I showed this unit to a couple earlier in the week. The location to downtown Summit and the train is terrific and units in 133 Summit Ave do not last long. But again, this unit is on 3rd floor and there is no elevator so it's not for everyone. But it's pretty spacious, great ceiling height, 3BR and a small office. I'd be happy to show it to you. ... more

There are a number of "Multi Family" zones in Summit, but there are no restrictions on them having to be a two or three family property. I don't know the property in question off the top of my head, but I will tell you that there have been several sales in the last few years where a property went from being a multi-family and was converted to a single family.

As prices for single family homes start to rise, we are bound to see more of these conversions, expecially in districts that border some of the nicer single family homes.

Multi-family property zoning generally requires a 10,000 sq ft lot for a two family. Some are grandfathered, meaning that a certain 6,000 sq ft lot is ok as a two family as it existed before the regulations were enacted. Those properties, once converted back to single family, could not be converted down the road to two family units as they would not pass the zone's requirements.

As an agent you should be able to view all the info you need in the MLS with #2670563. If you are a buyer, you can access the public MLS site and enter the MLS # 2670563. The house is listed for $1,649,000 and has been on the market for 124 days. NJ doesn't measure square footage, but to give you an idea of the room sizes, this is what I found on the listing:
LIV: 23x14
DIN: 15x14
KIT: 25x10
FAM: 23x10
1BD: 16x14
2BD: 20x10
3BD: 22x10
4BD: 13x10
OTH 2:22x15
Rec Room / Ground 3:10x7
Pantry / First: 11x7

Hope that helps. If you would like to make an appt to view the house, please give me a call. My contact info is below:

Hi Frederick, the home you inquired about sold quickly - going under contract in just 13 days. It was a well priced home in Summit - as is sale, but nonetheless a great price for this community. I'm sending along several links, the first includes the home you inquired about, and two others on the same street, one under contract and the other one available.…

The second link is all available single family homes in Summit, min 3 bedroom, max list price $400K. As you can see there aren't many.…

Send me an email with more details on your criteria and I'll pull together some idea.

Hi Paul, this is a beautiful home, but as previously mentioned, it is under contract. Don't worry...there are many more to choose from!

Before getting into that just remember, everything's negotiable! That is one of the aspects that our training in real estate focuses on the most. It may take some time to come to an agreement, but there is almost always some flexibility.

I pulled four listings that I thought were similar in location, size, and price. Take a look & let me know what you think.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me by e-mail or phone 862-242-0688.

Best wishes,

Hi Nunnis, I do not find this property still active, under contract or recently sold in the Garden State MLS - I am sending a link to the two 5 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath homes that are availabel in Summit under $1 million.

Let me know if you would like to see either one. Also send me a quick email with more info on what you are looking for and in what communities, and I'll send along what is available.

Summit is a great town - a commuting hub with a super downtown. Nearby Millburn/Short Hills is top notch as well. Other similar communities with similar attributes are Westfield and Morristown. NJ has much to offer and I'd be honored to help you find you home here.
