Rivers Edge is one of the newer townhouse developments that has sprung up in the Springdale community of Stamford over the last few years. There has been a trend by local reputable developers to build newer spacious properties outside of the downtown area and Springdale has benefitted greatly.
There has also been several PUD homes(planned unit development) which allows multiple detached homes to be built on a single larger lot. These offer the conveniences of a condo style association but with more single family home conveniences.
The area of Springdale has a good reputation for those looking to purchase a single family home, a condominium, or a multi-family home. There is a small village atmosphere with local shops, restaurants, schools, and a local train station(convenient for commutters to NYC).
Having sold several properties in Springdale over several years, we would highly recommend that you consider Springdale as a nice place to live.

Nick Gandhi answered:
A townhouse is a 'style' of home. Examples of different styles are ranch/garden, split, etc.

A condo (or condominium association) is a form of ownership. This is where a group of property owners come together to maintain common elements of the property. This usually happens when walls are adjoining, although standalone single family homes may also form an association.

Therefore, a townhouse is usually part of a condo association, and a condo may or may not be a townhouse
