Hi Prosperity13ct,

Unfortunately yes the lender can. The truth is lenders cannot count unemployment benefits as income because it is temporary. The bigger question is can you really qualify under the underwriting requirements without the additional income from a new job.

I think you should call another lender (like me) to get a second opinion.

I specialize in VA financing & would be happy to review your situation for free to see if you're being told the truth.

Take a look at the recommendations from some of my past clients on my Trulia profile by clicking the link below my phone number.

Please feel free to contact me for more information or help.

In any case, you might consult a real estate attorney about the facts of your situation. They might be able to give you some idea based on what the title issue is. ... more

Hi Gina,

If any repairs were required after the inspection, allow time for that to be completed. You might want to check with your realtor to find out when the appraisal will happen - this could delay things a bit. But typically, a home should close within 30 days or so once the inspection and appraisal are completed. Make sure your realtor is in contact with you on a regular basis. They should be communicating status to you. Hope this helps. Christine Baker, Windermere. ... more
