I don't consider those 2 areas you mentioned to be particularly close to each other, especially during rush hour. There is no freeway that really connects those areas as most of our freeways run N/S within the 101 Loop, which both these points are. Thomas Rd, Indian School Rd, Camelback Rd, Lincoln Dr. or Shea Blvd are going to be your best options.

You might consider the Tatum/Shea Area (85028/85254), which is close to the 51 & not a far jog from Downtown Scottsdale, Thomas/64th St area (85251) but maybe consider looking north of Thomas. Also, consider Scottsdale Rd & Shea (85253)- this area is a bit more expensive, but might be the easiest commute between the 2 points, since Shea is a fast moving E/W Rd that connects with both the 51 FWY & Scottsdale Rd. Northern Tempe (85281) might also be an option to take the loop 202 between the 2 points.

Check out my website to search MLS for rentals by zip code at www.camilleswanson.com and be sure to select the "Residential Rental" option for the type of rental. Good luck!

James Wehner answered:
Look for homes, condos, or apartments that are currently occupied, but have tenants moving out just before your move-in date. Pretty much all landlords will not hold a property vacant for someone longer than 30 days. A good place to start would be with some property managers and apartment complexes to see what places they MAY be having available around that date. The issue is, landlords might not know if the tenants will be vacating at the end of their lease yet. Most landlords only require a 1 month notice to not renew the lease.

Best of luck!

Hi there!

I myself am a transplant from Detroit. I know how cold the winters are and how humid the summers can be! I love Arizona, been here since September of 1995. The heat can get to you at times BUT the winters are short and not so cold. If you find a place with a pool, then you should e set for the rest of the seasons.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best of luck to you!

Sounds like a quick turn-over where you are looking which means high demand and competition. You may have a better shot at securing a lease for yourself by working with a local agent and it should not cost you anything to use an agent. My suggestion is to find an agent who handles just rental properties for the best service.

good luck,
