Hello Marcellam, whether you live in an historical district or not it is always a good idea to inquiry with your City's Municipal Office to find out the guidelines in adding additions or rehabbing a home. I would refer to the web sites that were mentioned to you below to get started and after that you may want to pay a visit to the City of Chesapeake zoning office.
