The biggest advantage of renting to own is if your present circumstances , primarily credit problems, prevent you from purchasing in today's market. Contrary to what the media is telling everyone, there are still programs available to QUALIFIED buyers that want to buy homes with little or no money down.
Very often, you can buy for less than rents may cost. Plus you have some great tax advantages by buying!
But, if you do not have any other choice, there are many homes in the S. Euclid/Lyndhurst area that a seller would be willing to work with a potential buyer to provide them a positive cash flow while they are unable to sell them in today's market. Looking at homes that are vacant or homes that have been on the market for an extended period of time may be a good area of potential candidates.

In Ohio, seller givebacks are limited to closing costs ( I imagine this is what you're talking about ) or some down payment assistance programs.
