I do not have the cash to buy a home in the Klamath area. But I do want to buy a piece of land in the area. I have been given a year to live and I want to spend the last moments of my life living in God's country. I plan on buying a nice3 tent, propane heater and a propane cooking stove. I only have approximately $10,000. What ever you can do to get me the best deal for the little money I have would be appreciated. I would love to fish for Salmon, hunt for a deer or two, basically live a subsistant type of living. If there is anything you can do to help me realize this dream of mine, I would appreciate it. I have some expensive musical equipment i may be able to trade for a portion of the principal. I have a 1972 Gold Top Les Paul Guitar that was customized by the same guy who builds Kirk Hammett's guitars. He is the lead guitarist for Metaillica. I also have a 50th anniversary reproduction of a Bad Ass Stratocaster with the pick ups customized to David Gilmore's specs. I do have other equipment that I can list if anyone is seriously interested. Thanks for your time. "Appreciate time." you do not know how special it is till it is determined by a fricken disease.

Hi Tony!
The freeway runs through the original town of Mt Shasta as does the train. I have found that it can be heard from different areas at different times of the day and different atmospheres. The listing I have at 2601 North Old Stage Rd is west of the freeway at least 1/2 mile and down below the freeway a bit so the sounds are very limited. The freeway sound travels "up" primarily so you may not hear it 3 blocks from it if your home is below the freeway and still hear it up near the top of the city neighborhoods east of downtown. That being said, I live over 1 1/2 miles from 1-5 and sometimes I don't hear the freeway at all and other times it sounds quite loud. What I've noticed is that once I'm outside doing something - gardening, hiking, etc I forget about the sounds. They blend into the background. Most of the buyers I have worked with who were adamant about no freeway noise found that once they started looking, they often found something in town and actually realized the sound isn't as loud as they thought it would be. The best thing to do is come experience this beautiful area for yourself and you'll be as enchanted as I was and the freeway will be a non issue. ... more

Better ask aboutr the water damage too!! I live here and my mother looked at the house (we know an the people who originally built it. When they forclosed on the last owner they did nothing to keep the pipes from freezing! They broke and the house flooded for days. The people who live near saw water running out of the doors. Still took the bank another day to get there and shut it off. We looked at it and it needs an inspection badly! We saw waater damage on the floors through the livingroom, dining room, and family room. Also, therew is a leak in the front doorway from the roof. ... more

You should be able to put a log cabin on a lot in weed. You would just need to check with the City of Weed regarding setbacks for the particular lot you were looking at. If the lot is one at Lake Shastina, Weed, CA then you could log onto and it will tell you all the specifications for any of the lot requirements out there. ... more
