Wheaton has seen a lot of business development in the last few years. The market in the region is vastly improving. I believe it will be a combination of both seller and buyer's market along as you position yourself right. if you are selling getting your home ready to maximize a sells price and buyers knowing how much you want to pay and seizing the opportunity would a property present itself. ... more

If you are looking in Silver Spring, the price can vary greatly, with many houses ranging from $500,000-$700,000, but a few less than $500,000 and a number of houses well over $800,000. It always depends on the location and the features of the house. ... more

For accurate information why not simply contact the school directly and ask and if you would like to stay within that school district also ask about it's boundaries....

Good Morning Joshua!
Check out this great link:,%20md
This is a link that defines the boundary lines of Montgomery County schools. It could be used as you look for a home because it also provide rankings of each of the schools.. My feeling is that the often used "location, location, location" in real estate always holds true. Warning signs like " backs to major highway", corner lots, backs to apartment buildings, school systems, unkempt neighborhoods are examples that usually hold true and help hold your value in a home. Always a challenge balancing this against affordability, but important so you don't settle on a place and later regret it.
Another great link is the Montgomery County Maryland School website: This site really is updated daily! For example, this morning's schools closing - due to icy road conditions - were listed early enough for families to make appropriate plans for the day. The process to find a specific school after opening this link: 1. Click second item on the top blue line – Schools. 2. You’ll need the complete formal name of the school which you can access when you click LIST OF SCHOOLS inside the block/next to the graduation picture. 3. Most importantly, know the street number and street name of a house you are researching. Then click – in the same section - SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT LOCATOR. Do not put the type of street, court, terrace with the unique name of the road. The street type needs to be written into the bottom block .
You’ll enjoy both of these links when researching Montgomery County Schools!

The 20901 area of Silver Spring is strong. Homes in good condition with a fair list price are selling quickly with strong offer - less contingencies. Inventory is still low which is good news for sellers. It's common to see multiple offers. We just wrapped up a 2013 market analysis for 20901 and the surrounding areas. Happy to pass it along. Just email me or give me a call. ... more

Absolutely! It seems everyone is watching their pennies these days. Now is the time to purchase before the new rules and regulations and increase in interest rates.

You can appeal to the county but don't delay! It can be a lot of work but could be worth it if your home is truly under valued.

Alex Saenger answered:
Hi Donna,

If you are thinking of selling, now is a great time, inventory is low and buyers are in search of that perfect place to call home. And with interest rates at the lowest point since we have all been alive, well, affordability is at an all time high. This also applies if you are thinking of buying. The biggest issue is lack of inventory (the number of homes available for purchase). As a seller it's great, as a buyer, not so much. If I had a little more information from you we could get into more specifics. Feel free to contact me if you would like to talk more, search for homes on my website, or shoot me an email.
