The San Francisco Board of Supervisors, who act as a city board and a county board, have deemed that they do not want any big boxes owned by major corporations built. Obviously this doesn't make sense with the opening of Bloomingdales, does it? But your questions about Home Depot is because they don't want one in the city and county. There is a mega store in Colma, just south of the city limits off of 280. That's really the closest one and it is always crowded there because of San Francisco's narrowmindedness. Guess who benefits tax wise on this??
