There are quite a few 'dog-friendly' apartment buildings in Sherman Oaks. I know of a young lady that just rented a 1 BR @ $1200/mo on Burbank Blvd near Hazeltine.

Since you have a load of positive balancing criteria, a landlord, if presented properly would likely to you with a 2 month deposit (maximum allowable by law).

I also know that there are many pet friendly buildings around the Woodman area as well.

Hi,
there are several complexes in Sherman Oaks that feature short term furnish rentals. I am more than happy to provide you with the names and numbers of these accommodations. How long of a rental do you view as short term?
Just to let you know, the rental market is rather tight on inventory in Sherman Oaks and surrounding areas. I live, work and specialize in the Sherman Oaks area, do give me a call!

Everyone here posted some great resources but a couple things to keep in mind:

1. By law the security deposit cannot be more than twice the rent (ie if rent is $2,000/month then the deposit cannot exceed $4,000).

2. If you do prepay the rent, you have to do a minimum of 6 months worth, not any less.

Both of these rules are per CA law.

Hope this helps!

Hi, as others have said, Westside Rentals or Craigslist might be your best bet for the Sherman Oaks area. As of right now, there is just one active rental on the MLS @ $1700 for a 1/1. Sometimes there's sticker shock moving to Los Angeles. Best to you, and safe travels! ... more
