Of course it can work! Location is the reason people live in city apartments as opposed to a "McMansions" in the boondocks!

If you will be out of state, do you have a caretaker?

While I am not involved in property management, my company has successfully managed investor portfolios for 25+ years!

If you'd like more info, message me through Trulia.

All the best!

Hey Brenda,

I'm a little bit confused. Are you looking for a place in Florida or Scottsdale? I see realtors answering from both locations. Also, would love to hear about what else is important to you in your future home. Feel free to respond here or shoot me a message. There are always great places going up both for rent and for purchase! ... more

Luke,

You need a visa or green card to get started. There's plenty more you'll need. Best article about this is here: http://traveltips.usatoday.com/move-america-australia-62202.html

If you need more help with any of that, or need help finding a good place to rent then please feel free to shoot me a message.

Short sales and foreclosures have been just about exhausted in the Scottsdale marketplace. Are there any additional criteria that you have for the home--age of the house, pool, etc?

Jennie Miller, Pllc answered:
You will want to speak with you accountant and/or property manager about this. You can also call the city where the properties are located. The ownership structure doesn't have anything to do with the property purpose. If the home is a residential rental property, you may be required to pay city sales tax based on the monthly income collected--speak to a professional about this to make sure you are getting the right information. ... more

I don't consider those 2 areas you mentioned to be particularly close to each other, especially during rush hour. There is no freeway that really connects those areas as most of our freeways run N/S within the 101 Loop, which both these points are. Thomas Rd, Indian School Rd, Camelback Rd, Lincoln Dr. or Shea Blvd are going to be your best options.

You might consider the Tatum/Shea Area (85028/85254), which is close to the 51 & not a far jog from Downtown Scottsdale, Thomas/64th St area (85251) but maybe consider looking north of Thomas. Also, consider Scottsdale Rd & Shea (85253)- this area is a bit more expensive, but might be the easiest commute between the 2 points, since Shea is a fast moving E/W Rd that connects with both the 51 FWY & Scottsdale Rd. Northern Tempe (85281) might also be an option to take the loop 202 between the 2 points.

Check out my website to search MLS for rentals by zip code at www.camilleswanson.com and be sure to select the "Residential Rental" option for the type of rental. Good luck!
