I am a sophmore in high school at Westlake High School in 30331 and its okay. 7/10. There are a lot of gang bangers and drugs and fights at the school. Just a couple weeks ago, some kids came into a clasroom and beat up a student while the sub was in there for no reason. The school lunch is good. And you'll make real friends. I also went to Stonewall Tell Elementary and Sandtown Middle and Stonewall is an excellent school. They teach well, and are very strict. Sandtown is also a great school. Being that they both have uniform (not sure if its manditory or optional) indicates that they don't play.

It looks as if the zip code 30331 has schools in it that are a part of Fulton County Schools, http://portal.fultonschools.org/Pages/default.aspx, and Atlanta Public Schools, http://www.atlanta.k12.ga.us/site/default.aspx?PageID=1.

I would agree with what has been posted before: Look at neighborhoods and then specific schools. You can use this page from the state's education department website to look at and compare school districts, http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/ReportingFW.aspx?PageReq=211&PI… and here to drill down to specific schools, http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/ReportingFW.aspx?PageReq=211&PI…

For example, Continental Colony ES is in the 30331 zip code area and is part of Atlanta Public Schools, and its school report can be seen here: http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/ReportingFW.aspx?PageReq=101&PI… Fickett ES is another school in 30331; its info can be seen here, http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/ReportingFW.aspx?PageReq=101&Sc… That’s just two of many.

Hope this was helpful. Good luck with your search.

As a Realtor, I cannot offer an opinion about a school or school district that would sway your opinion toward or away from any given neighborhood. I can only suggest that you do your own research and help get you started. It is essential that you drill down to the individual schools your children will attend, and I urge you to visit those schools before making any final decisions. Here are some links to get you started.
