Most schools create a natural connection with playground/recess to the student lunch schedule. Five year olds are struggling with learning how to become more independent and keep up with a planned schedule. The two step process of eating a meal and getting dressed for outdoor activities is not easily managed by this age group.

Tiffany, a conversation with your child's teacher will clear up this uncertainty. Contact the school for reliable and accurate information.
