Year round is said to help the children stay fresh throughout the year. With a shorter break in the summer, the teachers do not have to spend the first quarter reteaching what was taught at the end of the 4th quarter the previous year. There are two elementary schools in Bentonville that have this schedule, Elm Tree and RE Baker. There are currently no other grade levels in this area that participate on this schedule. It was difficult for me to have one child on year round and the other on traditional when she moved out of elementary school, we couldn't schedule vacations easily.

Some of the schools around here follow a "year round" calendar, both schools attend the same amount of days, it is just broken up differently. I prefer the year round.
