Hi, Ms. Statia. There is no one answer to your question. Fairfax County has many different school programs. I can tell you that the most highly sought after secondary school in the Lorton area of Fairfax County is the South County Secondary School. I don't know enough about the areas in Prince William County just south of Lorton to give you any advice, except that, aside from water front, water view, or water access property, not much is sought after there. The relevant Web reference for the Fairfax County public schools should be included with this E-mail. Best, John Fitzgerald, Better Homes Realty

The Prince William area has great properties. You don't need to put down one particular area....sounds like you don't work that area and are just after clients coming to where you work. Sure won't pick you for my realtor.

The only high school in Lorton is South County Secondary School. It currently houses grades 7-12. In September 2012 a middle school for grades 7-8 will open and an overcrowded high school will be able to function with a more feasible population.

Here's a look at ONE measurement of school success--SAT scores. http://lorton.patch.com/articles/south-county-sat-scores-out…

As others have stated Realtors® can not answer a question about a "best" school.

If you have an address where you are moving you can look at the Fairfax County School boundary map and see what school services the area.

You can also go to http://www.greatschools.net and look at the reviews of schools in the area.

Great question! My colleague below gives a good straight answer. If I can expand upon it...I just sold a client there in Lorton that actually works for the school system. If you wish me to put you two together to talk about it or if you want to contact me...just use the info. below. Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Tina

I am sorry, but as real estate agents this is not a question we can answer. We can point you to websites, but recommend you do some research by talking to others in the area and see what they recommend.

Good luck!
