The NJ Department of Education publishes objective ASK (Assessment of Skills & Knowledge) assessment information online:

You can search by grade level and get an Excel spreadsheet with data for every school in the state. Schools are first listed by DFG (District Factor Groups), with "A" being the lowest rated and "J" being the highest rated. Middletown is in DFG "GH".

If you search for the 3rd grade, Middletown is District Code 3160. If you look at the language arts and math results, P= Proficient, A= Advanced Proficient and PP = Partially Proficient. Nut Swamp has the highest results (but not by much).

Hope this helps!

Michael K, Thompson did quite well for the 6th Grade. Here's the link to the state web site for the 6th Grade ASK scores: http://www.state.nj.us/education/schools/achievement/2013/njask6/. It's an Excel spreadsheet, so it might be easier for you to use if you first sort by County and then by Town (if you don't know how to do that, email me and I'll send it to you).
