Monika has given you some great websites to look at but don't forget to look at other school districts in the area. Here are a few other websites to look at.

Here is a link to the Washington Post School Index. They evaluate schools yearly and put out a report on how well the schools are rated:

Once you have done your research on the schools I suggest you do the following to get a feel for the neighborhood and schools
1. Visit the schools, tour the grounds, and talk with the staff (office and Principal)
2.drive around the neighborhood where the schools are located and see what amenities (sports, parks) are in the area.

I have moved a lot due to my husbands job so I know how stressful it can be. If you have any questions please call me at 703-531-3313 or email me at pauline.arredondo@longandfoster.com

Hi Dominique,

Welcome to the area. There are both private and public schools available in the area, but unless your children have special needs, I think you'll find that the public school system is excellent. It is ranked as one of the top ten public school systems in the country.

As Stan said below, one of the first things you want to do, is to select a Realtor to guide you through the process. I would recommend that you interview a couple of Realtors to see who you feel most comfortable with. I grew up in the NYC area, but have been down here now for over 30 years, all in the area that you're looking to settle in. There parks and the sports facilities here are excellent, so I think you'll be able to find exactly what you're looking for.

I would love to interview for the position of your Realtor. My contact information is below, and I would love to hear from you.

Warm Regards,
