Reason of many changes of school principal or vice principal .

Asked by Virginia Slim, Bellevue, WA Sun Feb 1, 2009

Why did they experience changes of principals three times in the past three or four years? it sounds something unusual. We have a feeling that this school is weak which may lead the school into unstable enducational environment. I do not feel comfortable with lack of enthusiam in school to make safe environments for students. For example, there is no organised rule of drop off/ pick up every morning/afternoon and many students pass through cars which is very dangerous. Nobody in school is overseeing to avoid accident. something missing , lack of mindfullness of student safety..

I am not familiar with the school but seems as though you are almost answering your own question. The inability to retain a principal appears to be one of several challenges for the school. I think the best way to find real answers to your question is to talk to the parents and educators that are most involved in running the school.

Go to the PTSA roster and start calling people about your concerns and questions and see how they respond. You may not always get a frank, honest answer, but by speaking to several people you will begin to get a clear picture of the school and how and why it is run the way it is.

School Board of Education meetings are public and anyone can attend. If you would like to make a statement to the BOE, you can contact the Superintendent's office and request to be included on the Board's Agenda.

This will generate some attention to you issue.
