Question about Hayesville High School

Asked by Ben, Hayesville, OH Wed Oct 29, 2008

Why can't we recycle the old grease and oil used in the lunch room, and convert it to biodiesel for the school buses, not only to recycle, but to help out with the schools budget? Why?

I and not a overly educated person on the subject but as for the buses, they more than likely run on gas and not diesel so that point is mute. As for recycling, you are interested in something that will involve the EPA and their guidelines are stringent to say the least. The School is a governmental agency with ties to the EPA butt your school doesn't produce enough by product to make too much of a dent in benefits for the school. Go Green has been petering out in America for the simple reason most don't want to bother with it at home and just throw it in the trash! Out of sight out of mind, for them! The Government is like a person who has multiple personality's committing suicide when trying to doing good! If the Wright brothers were alive today they wouldn't be able to build or test the airplane because "your not allowed to do that"! All I got to say is good luck with that and keep trying because your fighting an up hill battle with great ideas!
