Looking for a house around $400K in a smaller high school(4A). I'd love some feedback regarding these schools

Asked by Anne, Shawnee, KS Thu Feb 26, 2009

We're relocating from Kansas City, my husband has a job north of Denver near I-70/25. We're hoping to find a home in the district of a smaller high school (1100-1400). From what I've gathered so far, that would lead us to Broomfield HS, Golden & Centarus. I've looked at the rankings and test scores, but I would sure love some feedback from real people. We're looking in the $400,000 vicinity for a house. Any advice regarding these schools or neighborhoods is welcome. Thanks!

Hi Anne. I can't speak for Golden or Centaurus, but we live and work within the Broomfield HS boundaries. We've been in the Broomfield community for 15 years and love it. It's a great place to raise kids and it still has a small town feel. It's perfectly situated half-way between Bouder and Denver which has also made it a solid real estate investment during the past few years. When you're looking at Broomfield neighborhoods that feed into Broomfield H.S., you'll want to look west of Sheridan Blvd as that is the boundary line between the Boulder Valley School District and the Adams 12 District to the east. Depending on the size, age and style of home you are considering, some neighborhoods to consider in the $400 price range would be Country Estates, The Outlook, Aspen Creek (west of Sheridan side), Eagle Trace, Country Club, Ridgeview Heights, Miramonte Farms, Overlook, Broomfield Heights (older), Highland Park and Northmoor. Please let us know if you'd like to discuss this area further as we specialize in the Broomfield market. Broomfield is a great area that has some awesome schools. Here is the link to the school district that feeds Broomfield: http://www.bvsd.k12.co.us. You can also go to http://www.cde.state.co.us/ to access school report cards of any school in Colorado. I think that you will like any of these neighborhoods - especially Broomfield as the average price of home is $347,087. It is a great city for families as there are great schools and lots of fun activities.

I would love to send you my complete Relocation Guide that has so much more information than you can find on this site! I have city profiles for 24 cities in Metro Denver including Broomfield, Golden, Westminster (another area you might want to consider - as it is adjacent to Broomfield). To request this guide go to http://www.leslieheldenbrand.com/guide-to-denver.asp

By the way I work with a lot of people who relocate to Metro Denver, so if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to contact me!
