Is being zoned for Jefferson Elementary School a drawback for housing resale? Their LA NJASK scores are below state level .

Asked by Mkteach5, Summit, NJ Mon Jun 27, 2011

Jefferson School was identified as having students from lower income families. My concern is the possible inequity when compared to other schools in the district.

All 5 Summit schools do have the same curriculum, educational standards, and Jefferson school has excellent teachers as do all of the Summit elementary schools. Your question as to whether it affects housing resale is a very subjective one, one we can't get "hard data" to support. Plenty of homes sell in this school district all the time. If you'd like to discuss your question over the phone, I'd be happy to speak with you. Call my cell phone at 908-419-6847. I'm a real estate professional based in Summit.
