I like the Huntington area and I think there are a lot of nice bargains here. This is the most affordable metro stop in Northern Virginia and the neighborhood has a mix of newer and older developments.

Do you mean 22303, which is the Huntington area of Fairfax Co, just outside the beltway, or do you mean 22203, which is North Arlington, which extends from VA Square metro to the Falls Church/Fairfax Co border?

The Fairfax Co police site has some information about crimes:

Here is a link to a crime map for Arlington Co:

If you really want to know what the areas are like and the crime rates, I suggest you talk to the local police districts, walk around the areas at different times of day to see what the neighborhoods are like.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Though your questions are good ones, I cannot answer them. They both relate to laws on Fair Housing and no matter how they are answered, they can be construed as discriminatory and any realtor that did answer could be subject to being fined, jail and loosing their license.
However, there are a number of web sites that can help you formulate an opinion.
With regard to Crime - go to the Virginia State Police Website, plug in zip codes, and go from there.
With regard to zip codes, depending on the county they are located in, most county web sites outline the demographics, weather, schools, income levels, etc.

And you, Ms. Clemmer, could are offering legal advice, I presume without a license. I can advise you that you could be subject to being fined...
As an attorney, I respectfully disagree that the possibility of a finding of discrimination be much above nil for answering his questions.

Hi. The 22303 area is in the Huntington area of Fairfax County, not in Arlington. It's south of Alexandria. The Washington Post's Web site has OK crime information. The Web site has detailed information on Fairfax County public schools.

I have lived in the 22207 area of North Arlington since 1986. In my subdivision, there has been only one crime since I have lived here. Check out the US News rankings of high schools; they prefer H-B Woodlawn to any McLean or Great Falls school. Of course, North Arlington is more expensive per square foot of finished space that either McLean or Great Falls, and high priced homes, as well as others, sell faster and rent for more per square foot, too. If you are price conscious, and not too fussy about your commute, I would check out the Woodson and/or Robinson school pyramids.

If I were you I would rather raise a family in McLean or Great Falls where they have safer neighborhoods and fantastic schools. Arlington is more for the younger single folks with good jobs.

What do you mean by a "good place"? "good" is different for many folks. Crime rate can be found by checking with the local police dept.

Arlington is certainly nice..convenient location..lots of amenities..restaurants etc. This obviously helps to keep the prices up and make this a location which is highly desirable.

Should you wish to speak directly with an experienced agent..simply contact me.

It's a great place to raise a family. There's a lot of diverse, young families, and a strong sense of community. 22303 is in the Huntington Alexandria section of Fairfax County though. If you're looking for Arlington, you're in the wrong place.
