Hi Kimberly,
Yes, you can do that here in Naples. I recommend you an area called Golden Gate Estates which allows gardens of any size. Our weather is usually great for gardening.
Golden Gate Estates is located just east of Naples near Alligator Alley (I-75). Most parcels are one to five acres, but other homesteads can be as large as ten acres. As for the homes themselves, you can find entry-level homes or glamorous mansions closer to the beach. Guesthouses, pickup trucks, all-terrain vehicles (ATV) and recreational vehicles (RV) are also allowed on all premises unlike many other communities.
Golden Gate Estates residents also have easy access to the Southwest Florida International Airport. Buyers can find homes in the $100s to millions of dollars, depending on size and location. Wooded acres allow hoofed animals and ATVs for outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to being less than 30 minutes from Naples beaches, there are new schools in the area, a National Park, a library, a fire station and a general store.
I hope this information can help you,
I can help you to find your home,

Kimberly ...

The weather is usually great for gardening.. I would suggest raised beds but outside of the city,
the homes are over an acre sometimes 2, so you will hae loads of room.
Lynn is correct though.. The gated communities have restrictions on all sorts of things. but Golden Gate
has great opportunities.
Let me know when you need your rental and I will be glad to send a list. Just keep in mind that rentals this
time of year are sometimes hard to come by. Buying between Naples and Orange Tree would be my suggestion and then putting the children in the Orange Tree schools... They can go from kindergarten to high school and never be a mile from the first school...all on the same street....
Let me know if I can help you...

Good Day Kimberly..

Yes, it is tough to find what you are looking for in the Naples Daily News but possible and/or Craigslist... Most of the properties in the area are setup for vacation/second homes and this is not what you want - to do your own thing.

The most flexible area are indeed farther away...but I think you might enjoy some closer in as well...such as Hillltop, Morningside, Gulf Acres or Poinciana Village.... I believe these areas would give you the flexibility you want - the garage and the garden (that produces twice each year)...and the three bedrooms...

Let me know if you want me to send you a list of possible rentals in these areas....believe you will enjoy it here.... very Midwest.... I came from Iowa myself.... quite popular area for Midwesterners....

February is not the best month to come for relocation... very busy with season people then....but I will help you as much as I can.... just let me know....

With Respect, joey

Naples is a destination for a lot of "snowbirds". Most of them tend to live here part time (wintertime) and therefore there are a lot of gated communities that don't allow vegetable gardens. That being said, the area you might want to look into is called Golden Gate Estates which allows gardens of any size. There are a few areas closer to the beach that have lessened restrictions for that as well but the closer you get to the water the more money you are going to pay.

Good luck and my team would be able to help you.

Hi Kimberly,

You need to find an agent in Naples if that is the area in which you wish to live.

I am sure there would be several neighborhoods where you would be able to have a vegetable garden.

Good luck on your search. If you decide you would be interested in the east coast of Florida, please give me a call.
