Yes it a nice place to live,However being from Brooklyn get ready to really slow down(like a snail) .I was out there in April and got angry a few time because the bus was running every 30 on a Saturday. Other than that it's a small, beautiful and wonderful place to live.I am going to move there and I am from Philadelphia,Pa

Actually Decatur is not any better. Tucker has pretty good schools. My children attend Tucker High and Midvale elementary. I would advise you to look at the school district first. Also try Gwinnett County. Realistically it doesn't matter what place you find to live there is always crime. Tucker has crime, Buckhead has crime, etc.

have to agree with you on this part that Tucker has good schools in comparison to Clarkston at least. My two kids just got into Midvale and its a HUGE difference from Idlewood in Clarkston.

depends on your definition of 'good'. I moved here from Brooklyn and have lived in Clarkson with my kids for 9yrs. I like that its close to Decatur, and tucker and stone mountain as well as the major highways I use. So I think its not the "best" but there are worse and better places. I have two little kids now age 7 and 5.
hope this helps. i see you posted this in 2013 though.

No, public schools are terrible, crime rate is terrible. Try Tucker or Decatur.

Real Estate Agents are not allowed to comment on a variety of topics. The Fair Housing Act restricts the information that can be provided by a Real Estate Agent.

Off Limit Topics Include:
• Crime Statistic (including questions about whether a neighborhood is good or bad or safe)
• Demographics
• Environmental Concerns
• Household Income
• Religion
• Schools (including questions about how good or bad the school is)

Determining to the answers to questions on any of the topics listed above is something that you would need to do on your own. It is up to the individual to make their own determination about a specific area. If a Real Estate Agent were to comment on such a thing, it could be steering which is a prohibited act.
