I am going to relocate to NM and I have 2 daughters one entering 5th grade and one 9th

Asked by Wendy, Las Vegas, NV Tue Aug 5, 2008

Hi, what area should I look into moving? I just want the best schools for my daughters, I figure I can always find a house where ever I move, but a good school is important. My husbands company has offered him flexibility to move anywhere around Albuq. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as areas to look into or schools to look into or avoid? I greatly appreciate any help I can find, its a scary move. I called the school district and was told to look at the AYP then I called a school and they said the AYP doesnt reflect what is truly going on in the schools, I'm so confused.

Hi - and welcome to Albuquerque! You'll love it here - beautiful views, great weather, and the friendliest people in the world!
Unfortunately, it is actually against the law for realtors to give opinions about schools or neighborhoods. However, I can point you to a great website which will give you the kind of information for which I think you're looking. Go to: " http://;www.greatschools.net/city/Albuquerque" At that site, you can research schools by zip codes and find out such information as student/teacher ratios, performance on standardized tests, etc.
Good luck - and if there's anything else I can do to help you, please don't hesitate to call on me!
