Can anyone tell me what kind of schools Waxhaw has to offer?

This wasn't an area that I was really looking in, but we found a large home on quite a few acres and was curious to the schools and area in general. Thanks!

By now you have probably found a home but if you haven't please feel free to contact me to interview of the job of being your broker. My son goes to school at Cuthbertson and I just have great things to say about the school.

Please feel free to call, text or email me when you or any of your friends or family needs a real estate broker. Thank you again for this opportunity to serve you, I realize you have a choice of Real Estate Brokers, so I truly appreciate your business,

Hello Sarah,
If your children went to the Porter Ridge Schools and liked them then they should like the Waxhaw Schools, with new elementary Schools on board they are booming. I have two teacher friends in the Waxhaw Schools and they speak highly of them. Kennsington and Sandy Ridge elementary received high marks, which is expected of new schools, but they also get the parents high approval.
Waxhaw is still experiencing high growth growing pains, which are being dealt with, but depending were you are going to work you could have a long commute. If you lived in Indian Trail you know what I am talking about. If you need assistance in helping you find a rental, please let me know and I can help you locate one.
Good luck on your move.

Sarah I would just simply chose a few Realtor's and interview them, then start working with a local realtor that can give you MLS search access. That way you can search yourself online and narrow down your search quickly so that when you do come to town you can focus on the listings you have already seen.

Thank you guys so much for your fast response. We are getting so nervous with the school year beginning next week! We are moving from Ohio and we had a home lined up but the gentleman sold it out from under us after we put down our deposit. Now, we're still in Ohio, I guess we are left with only renting for the time being and school starts next week! STRESS! Our children used to go to Porter Ridge schools, very good school, we're just trying to get back down there now. My job starts the first week of September, so with school and my job, we don't have much time left!

Dear Sarah,
Waxhaw has very good schools. The areas defined as Waxhaw 28173 in the real estate searches cover a large area that extends from the Mecklenburg County NC line along Rea Road to the Town of Waxhaw itself and further south to the Lancaster County SC line. This area is served by a number of schools. Additionally, a new middle school and a new high school are under construction off Cuthbertson Road near the Town of Waxhaw. They will open in the 2009/2010 school year and the assignment areas for this part of the Waxhaw area will change. The school board has already chosen the neighborhoods for these schools and the changes are posted on the Union County Public Schools website.

To learn more about Waxhaw and the Waxhaw area schools, visit the Waxhaw and the Education pages of You will find links to the schools report cards and to the websites of the individual schools.
