While it has been some time since I have represented a client who had a large Live Oak that had historical significance I believe the city still has the designation. Many individual brokers operate Property Management services. The MLS also offers rental information, however due to the high rate of turnover not many of the property managers utilize the MLS. I would try googling rentals in w2hatever zip codes you are interested in. You might also try one of the rental sites on the internet, but be careful to verify all of the information before sharing personal data on line. Good Luck... more
If you are really interested in knowing and run into a "dead end" with the neighbors and previous owners (pun intended, sorry I couldn't help myself :) ) there is a website, http://www.diedinhouse.com/ which asserts that they can tell you if someone has in fact died in your home and how they died.
I would reach out the the Board of Assessors if you feel the assessment is wrong... I believe that's what you meant to say instead of appraisal. They will be your best source to answer your questions regarding your assessment value. Your closing attorney would be another good source as well.... more
Have you contacted Chatham County representatives @ the Courthouse? They should be able to answer your questions specific to your situation. You should have filed for a homestead exemption as well(not age related)if this is your primary residence.... more
