Be aware that scams do exist; be mindful that such web sites are third party sites, so the information is fed by various sources, therefore data is not really verified. If you choose not to work with an agent of your own always verify ownership before exchanging any money/personal information--make certain they are who they claim to be. Never wire any money, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. For scam related information see link.

Finding an apartment to rent without credit can be difficult, but with a well qualified cosigner, most landlords will be happy to rent to you. Check websites like Trulia and Craigslist for rentals, and make sure to check with landlords to see if they accept cosigners before touring a property.

If you need any help on your hunt, don't hesitate to ask!

Good luck!

You might want to talk to a Facebook Group named SCRRAP's, they know all the local rental property's that are Bully Breed friendly. Also some Landlords will work with you once they have met the dog and realize they are not "monster dogs". Not all landlords are rigid about their policies on the Bully Breeds, some want to meet the dogs. I also wouldn't call the dog a "Pit Bull", there is no such breed, call your son's dog the breed it is, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bully and the other Bully Breeds. This will help your son's dog stop being identified with what is perceived as a negative stereotype.

If it is too good to be true it probably is. A lot of scams are coming up where people put a house for rent on craigslist or other websites, meet you at the door, give you keys, get your deposit and low and behold they don't own the home. See if there is anyway that you can check title to see if you are dealing with the owner of the home before doing anything. I would recommend to go through a property management company as well to make sure that things are as they seem. Good luck. ... more

Hard to find rentals that take dogs, especially larger dogs. You might want to start saving up some funds, and think about a mobile home park. You can own your home, have a pet, a community pool and make some equity! Check out my blogs for more information! With good credit and income you can even make payments!

Hi, Aimee-

I had just looked for something similar for a client and Pioneer 2000 on Piner Rd. had some availability. A one bedroom is $1199 a month and they require $35 a month "pet rent." They do have some breed restrictions, so be aware of that. Their number is (866) 848-1742.

Good luck!

Hi, there- Good luck with your move. You've certainly picked a nice area. I, too, have a toddler and can tell you that there are SO many fun activities for little kids around here!

There aren't great housing options "downtown" - especially if you want to have the option of a shorter term lease in case the right house to buy jumps out at you. However, within 10 minutes of downtown, you have some great options of rental communities that offer short term leases and furnished homes. Here are some that I recommend to my relocating clients:

Acacia: In Rincon Valley east of downtown and close to some great pre-schools http://www.liveacacia.com/

The Boulders: In Fountain Grove on the Northeast part of town and close to some of the largest employers in Santa Rosa http://www.thebouldersatfountaingrove.com/

Vineyard Creek: Also on the north side of town, this location is more convenient to Windsor, Healdsburg and the Airport Blvd. industrial area (i.e. lots of large companies.)

If you have a more specific date or are willing to rent more long-term, I can let you know of some houses available to rent as well.

Good luck!
