I would not be too happy with water supplied by Santa Fe City or Santa Fe County. This is particularly true as both rely increasing on water from the Rio Grand. If had to use it, I'd install some sort of filtration system for interior use -- maybe triple osmosis.

Some communities have their own wells and filtration systems. They can be better. Also many homes have their own wells. You can have the well tested -- for both volume and quality -- before you buy. If necessary, you either drill deeper sometimes and again you can always install filtration.

I'm lucky. I filter very fine sand out of my well water with a cheap filter and it tastes great and is perfectly drinkable.

Nancy - first thing to do is sit down with the mortgage company and review all options right away! There are some good programs out there right now for refinancing but it just depends on your specific situation.

I have a few great mortgage contacts I use for my buyers/sellers here in Santa Fe if you would like to speak with them.

Not sure where your home is located but the market is picking up again. If you want to talk further or would like the names of my mortgage folks, I'd be happy to provide them to you. Just email me.
