Come rent our house at 150 Loma Vista Dr. in Burlingame hills. It is at the end of the only level cul-de-sac in the hills, is a great place for kids and is in the top rated Burlingame school district! C.heck it out here on Trulia and on Zillow. In a couple of years you will know everything you need to know, and will not want to leave. ... more

EMF concerns may be valid if you live right under the lines, but I don't know of any definitive studies on it. I do know of construction defects at two of the three Ridge developments. Much has been repaired, though not all. The fallout from that is usually higher monthly dues, and/or high Special Assessments. In at least one case, there is much more to come, due to HOA choices made about
how to fund Reserves. IMO buying a condo/townhome requires far more detective work than does a
single family home.

If money is no problem, then none of this matters. Brisbane is great!

Do NOT listen to a real estate agent when it comes to global warming. No bay area realtor will admit to themselves what is about to happen to Newark, Foster City, etc. But I'll be you they will not be buying in those areas except as a short term investment. ... more

San Mateo upgraded its levees in 2012. South Shoreview and Parkside are no longer in a flood zone. See http://www.cityofsanmateo.org/index.aspx?NID=1796. The house you mentioned is in North Shoreview (north of the creek at 3rd) which unfortunately is still considered a flood zone AFAIK. ... more

Have you been on craigslist yet? I know a lot of landlords will put on ads "no pets" but some may change their mind once they meet you and your pet. This was the case for my fiance and I in the place we were previously renting (although it wasn't in Daly City).

If you're concerned about crime you can go to http://dcpd.crimegraphics.com/2013/default.aspx
there you can use the tabs on the side and enter dates to pull up crime information. Hope I helped. If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to email me.

Juliana Lee answered:
With home purchases it is not uncommon for many requests especially if the borrower moves money. Be sure to talk to your loan agent anytime you do something significant with your money.

The questions normally come from the underwriting department. Many lenders try to build walls between the underwriters and the loan agents so that the underwriting will not be influenced. The "walls" can destroy the ability of the lender to issue any loans in a timely manner.

When picking a lender or a real estate agent look at their past results not just their advertised charges.

San Carlos ,Belmont, San Mateo, or live and work in the Redwood Shores area. They have the shopping center there, library, public transportation. But I believe it is limited times for the bus. El Camino nearby has constant public buses running and the train is there as well in all the communties.

Good Luck in your search!

Hi Sunny,

Yes there are boundaries for the schools in neighborhoods. There are sometimes situations where you are in a certain area and the school is full. So always check with the school in the area where you are thinking of purchasing.

Best of Luck to you and family!

Robin Spalding Vaccaro answered:
Hi Stu -

As Lottie already stated, craigslist.org is a good place to check several times a day because rentals are scarce and go quickly.

Although my main career focus is listing and selling real estate I do occasionally have rental listings and represent renters in leases.

If you are interested, I can set you up at no charge on the multiple listing service's automated email system. It will deliver rental listings with your desired criteria as soon as they come on the market. If you find something you're interested in , i can show you it to you, write and negotiate the offer for you. There is no cost to you for this service. My commission is paid by the seller for listings in the MLS.

The most important thing for owners of rental property is a tenant's credit report. Next is income. Then job and references. If you have rented before you may be aware of all of this.

If this service is something that you would like to discuss further, please call me at (650) 454-7787 or email me at RSVP2Robin@gmail.com.

Thanks. I look forward to hearing from you.
