You can start searching as soon as 30 days. Usually it can take up 72 hours to get all documents received and verification complete. As long as you have a cleared background and good rental history your process shouldn't take too long. If you need help finding a place I can be reached at 210-823-2117 ... more

If you are thinking about purchasing, then now is the time to look. If you are planning on renting, then it's a little early to start viewing. The best recommendation, in my opinion, is to choose the area you are interested in and google an established real estate agency in that area, contact a realtor and begin a dialogue. You should get answers from there. ... more

Renting at your price is possible, not sure if you would be able to find one with a in law suite or secondary apartment but you never know. Sometimes it is the least likely that works out the best. Let me know if I can help, I am happy to run the search and find what you are looking for.

You should start your search for lease property about 4-6 weeks out. Property managers will aim to avoid lost income so they will hold properties vacant as short of time as possible.
Please consider your dog breeds and be aware that some breeds have harder times being accepted and about 50% property managers will not accept cats - this will impact your search.

Contact me for more assistance when you are ready.

Ron Rovtar answered:
Hi Trulia:

Generally a renter just needs to carry insurance for the contents (in other words, the renters possessions) but should definitely check the lease to make sure the are no other insurance obligation there. A good place to learn about your insurance needs is United Policyholders (see link below). There is a lot of information at the non-profit's website.

Kind regards,

They are also typically FAR less personal and more about the bottom line (ie: you're just a number). That can work both for and against you sometimes. Best of luck...Jim

Christine Henderson answered:
As you both will be on the lease, both will have to qualify for it. The landlord and property manager will take into account both your credit histories and your income. It the same as it would be if you were buying a home. You can use your combined incomes to buy a home for an FHA loan and a conventional loan. The only time that doesn't work is with a VA loan unless both of you are veterans and both want to use your entitlements.

If you'd like to discuss it in more detail, give me a call at 210-491-0021 x140. I have been helped clients buy, rent or sell since 1985. Here's a link to my website for more details http://MySanAntonioHome.net.
