Tammy,

How poor is your credit? I would suggest that you talk to a lender or two and go from there.

I suggest u rent for a month or 2 if u can. That way u can learn about the area. Lots of variables to consider . It's very spread out
And always remember location location. Location. And 2nd thing is size of lot. Those are the 2 things u can't change. Go to Airbnb and rent a month. if you don't have any luck let me know I have one ... more

Anyone know of a private lender I could contact for a 90,000 loan with an APR of around 6% were I can pay interest only for about 4.5 years then pay in full when I retire and can pull the money out of my retirement? It's truly sad, I've got plenty of cash I can access if I retire or die and I'm not ready to do either but I have things in life I want to do but not without cash. Funds would be used to pay myself fully out of debt and purchase a 5th wheel RV to go traveling. ... more

My husband and i retired in 2015 and considered moving to San Antonio for our retirement.

we determined that if we were to live comfortably, (car, utilities/occupancy, groceries, insurances, etc) we would need about $7000- $8000 per month.

electricity, water and income tax are HIGH on San Antonio.

also too, one needs to show a certain income and post your own deportation fee as bond for X number of years. i do not know what the income is and i do not know what the bond is.

in order for us to live comfortably on San Antonio, we'd exhaust our IRAs and that would not be good. we now are retired and living in FLA.
