I'm looking for the same thing, and I'm coming from Ma, so healthcare is a big factor as well. Here, everyone has healthcare. If you lose your job, or people who are just very low income, if you can't afford it, you get government healthcare for free. I thought that Obamacare made this the case in every state, so I was surprised to find out that all states don't have this option. So, if I'm wrong, I'd love to know, bc it's one of the main reasons I haven't moved to Florida yet. In any case, I was thinking st. Pete beach area-mostly bc I vacation there multiple times a year for many years...but not always the best reason to live there- so any and all suggestions are appreciated- I've never been to a lot of the places mentioned in other posts. I'm looking for a socially progressive area, I love artsy areas, good restaurants , etc, but MOST importantly, I can't be surrounded by trump voters- please no political responses. It's just a fact so I can get useful feedback. I am a clinician for people with mental health and addiction issues, so I'd need to be within driving distance of areas in need of this. I'd say I can afford 1200 ideally but possibly up to 2000$ a month in rent. A pool is a must have, and as close to beach as possible. ... more

My husband filed bankruptcy in 2013, we moved out of our house, due to the mtg. co. not wanting to work with us. and filed on them. They had changed mtg. co. to another co. name. So it was really hard to work with them. we moved into a leased house. have leased for going on 4 years now. We have tried to buy a house at the lake, 2 yrs. ago. and they told us , we cant buy now, until the auction of our house , which was the sale date . of Jan. 20 , has to be 3 yrs. from that date to buy on FHA. So we are soon to be on that date next yr. of Jan. but we were wondering if we might be able to buy a USDA LOAN, SOONER? ... more

Nobody can answer your question without an address. You need to ask the person who told you for the exact address.

If you receive cash / checks, are you depositing the same exact amount every week / month into an account? This way your bank statements will be proof of your income. If you don't deposit the same amount weekly, how will you prove your income? Another issue is if your employer is willing to write a letter confirming you are employed and how much your income is.

You may have to wait until you file your income taxes and show your 1099 before you can buy a home.

Quality of work is there. They'd promise you moon until closing. After closing and warranty work really sucks. You can't get anyone to do anything for you. There were many minor issues prior to closing, as I said, they promised it'd get done before closing and they were not. When we called and send emails, we were told to contact warranty department. Guess what. You guessed it. NOTHING has been done. If you want get it right. Let them finish everything prior to closing. I hope these comments helps future buyers. ... more
