I'm Molly Thompson, Assoc Broker w/ APR at Corp HQ in Saratoga, and I live just down the street from this home in a place I bought at the auction on the courthouse steps years ago. I used to have the house next door listed for sale. It's a lovely neighborhood! There's another house around the corner that was taken back in foreclosure about a year ago and it is still not on the market... Different banks have very different procedures for getting them put back on the market, some are quick, some not. Some use local agents, some use the closest agent that knows how to use their computer system- even if they are many miles away. Curt is right about getting set up to get notice when new listings come on. There are some very important things that buyer's need to be aware of when purchasing these REO's and the various inspections that should be done to be sure you understand what you're buying, especially when they are out in the country. There's a lot to know about distressed properties. If you'd like help, please let me know.
