Comparatively speaking the taxes in Abington are reasonable. If you compare the property taxes in Philadelphia to most of the surrounding townships and boroughs the taxes will almost always seem high. What you have to recognize is that Philadelphia has a high wage tax somewhere around 4.5% if you live and work in Philly. If you take that into consideration when figuring your personal finances, you will see that it may be more advantageous to pay a bit more in property taxes and reside outside of Philadelphia...
