Check with the city. Running a business like this requires a license, permits and proper equipment to handle issues like the smell, proper storage of flammable chemicals etc.

Hi Sheri,

I'm familiar with Heritage Oaks as i live around the corner on Woodcreek Oaks Golf Course. With a young family, i think you would be happier in the surrounding neighborhoods. Overall, this part of Roseville is wonderful for young families. My kids have gone to Quail Glen Elementary, Silverado Middle School, and are now at Woodcreek High School. Can you tell me a little more about what your looking for and your price range and i can make a few recommendations in terms of neighborhoods for you. ... more

I am sorry this happened to you. Althought you said it happened 7/5/2010, I am assuming that it actually happened last year. This is a legal question and can only be competently answered by a licensed CA attorney. Even if there was actionable wrongdoing, you have to take appropriate action within certain time limits. If you plan on pursuing this, you should at least get a consultation immediately. Not sure why you waited nearly a year. ... more

First, You mentioned you wanted to know about other areas NW of Sacramento. Lincoln is cheaper alternative to Roseville and Rocklin. It is the redheaded stepchild of Placer County. It grew too fast and they made some not so great financial decisions, but the schools are good as they stole teachers from Roseville and Rocklin as it grew. I have teacher clients who told me stories. Another 5 minute drive from the area. Cheaper but not as nice.
I market mostly for buyers in Roseville and Rocklin and have moved people from all over the country. People who live here get emotional about one city being better than the other very often. I have lived in both Roseville and Rocklin. I lived near the police station in Rocklin, crappy area. I lived in Diamond Oaks In Roseville and loved it and now I live in West Roseville, love it. Drive the neighborhoods and determine for your self. I can take you to bad and great areas in both, the real difference is not between Roseville and Rocklin, it is how great each is compared to Sacramento. I Have sold property from Colefax to Elk Grove and I market primarily to Roseville and Rocklin for a reason. I love South Placer County. For you, there are lots of nice custom homes from the 1980's and 1990's that have been remodeled in both areas with some nice lots if you do not want the cookie cutter feel. The people are great and you will love it here.

Every morning this winter as I return from taking my daughter to school I see a huge column of steam rising from that direction. Then it drifts off southward in the sky, high above Westpark. I nominate the name for the sports teams at the new high school in West park "The Steamers" - ... more
