The elementary schools are OK, you will have to make sure you help them after school because the teachers have to deal with troubled kids and the classes are a little over crowded. With your older children you will have to find an alternative for middle and high school. The schools are horrible, there is noway around that. Low test scores and low aspirations for achievement will leave your kids in the dust when it comes to college. Luckily Roselle is in Union County and we have plenty of private schools to choose from. Just check Wikipedia. Also if your children have a high IQ, the town will pay to send you to Westfield or Cranford HS. Or try our Magnet School in Elizabeth(don't ask why our magnet school is in Elizabeth). have lived in Roselle, NJ for all my 23 years while the houses seem nice, the school system is in the bottom twenty of the state and falling. All they will learn is how to fight, skip class, and read at a third grade level. ... more
