Good evening, Zoisdem:
Places to avoid are everywhere the homes are overpriced, either way over or way under your budget, that are not close enough to the grocery store, restaurants, downtown, hospital, parks, trails or other things that are important to a good quality of life. Since you are nearby, you should take a ride up Herlong. It is pretty busy and a main road to the hospital. This house is near the intersection with SC route 5. Some of the houses at this end are run down and not well taken care of. There is also a lot of Kudzu very near this property. ... more

Realtors cannot be commenting on crime:

If we say YES, then we are guilty of STEERING,
If we say NO, then we are guilty of STEERING.

Please take your question to the local Police.

Hi there,
I personally have lived in that area, just not that Subdivision for the past 11 years. Shandon is located off of Neelys Store Rd and Reservation Rd on the back side. My home is also located off Neelys Store and Old Friendship Rd.

With my children attending the schools out there, riding the school buses and having friends in the area, I have not heard of any break-in's and I take the local newspaper as well. As far as the animal incident, from what I know this happened towards "town", not in Shandon. The road in Shandon is very narrow and winding. If he had been driving 50mph on that road, he would have probably been the one hurt or killed.

What I do know about Shandon is that it is a BEAUTIFUL NEIGHBORHOOD with excellent curb appeal. Beautiful shrubs, trees, foliage and some homes even have beautiful ponds adjacent to them. Gorgeous! I would love to live there myself.

If you have the opportunity to live in that area, you will be making a very wise investment for later and a have a beautiful home to live in for now and your future!

If I can be of further service to you, please let me know. I have lived in Rock Hill for over 40 years and know it very well.
