Landlords often consider income and credit scores as having more weight. They will sometimes agree to offset a negative on the application by asking for a larger or double security deposit. Each decided case by case. Find a realtor you're comfortable working with and let them make calls on your behalf. ... more

We moved from Germany to Richardson over a decade ago. Given that you may not have a 'credit history' in the USA you should expect to pay at least a 3 month security deposit. Utilities are typically water, gas and electricity; budgeting $300--500 a month is not unrealistic. Further you should consider internet, TV and optionally phone service for $50-$100 a month. With no credit history, the utility companies may also require deposits. Good luck! ... more

This is the realty company we rent from and they've been great to us. Their search page has the option of selecting the school district. I'm not sure if they currently have what you're looking for but if you can keep checking back something may come up. There is currently a 4 bdrm listed that is more than the 1K you would like but it looks pretty nice for the price.

Best of luck to you and your family. I hope this helps give you one more option at least.

Take care.

Thank you for your answer.

We already have approval for someone to either take over our lease or get a release from our lease if we find a replacement.

It looks like there are about 40 rentals available of all types, including apartments, in the Richardson ISD for under $1,000.

Try using the link below and type in Richardson ISD in the Keywords box, and slide the maximum lease price (on right) down to $1,000. You can then grab the map to center it, zoom in on any of the 80+ properties to see details.

Call me if you need help or would like to see any of them.

Where is this property located? Is the unit by chance in Waterfall Crossing? I totally understand if you would like to market the property yourself. However, I would be greatly interested in coordinating a time to tour the unit as I specialize in properties located in the 75080 area of Richardson, and make it a point to stay abreast of "inventory on the shelf." Give me a call at 214-715-3020 or email me at ... more
