Hi! Carol at Trulia here. Neighborhood designations are added to listings to help consumers identify the general vicinity of the property listed. The list of neighborhoods in our system is provided by a third party, and we update this periodically. Neighborhood names are limited to official names rather than local nicknames.

Occasionally, neighborhoods are not found in our system and in that case, the city name only will be provided on the listing. Users on Trulia search by ZIP code much more frequently than they search by neighborhood so be sure to select the ZIP code(s) that corresponds to the neighborhood you are interested in.
