there are a lot of areas in charlotte that offer safe, nice neighborhoods with good schools. I went through this process a little over six years ago when I moved here my wife and four children. For us schools was one of the most important factors.
Unfortunately as a Real Estate agent we are not ethically allowed to steer you toward one area or away from an area. It is illegal for us to do that. What I can do is give you some very good websites to gather information on the schools in the area and the neighborhood crime statistics.
I would start by visiting the Charlotte mecklenburg schhols website. the web address is http://www.cms.k12.nc.us/.
From there you can do a locate your school based on an address you put in. This will tell you what school your children would be attending when you move here.
Take that information and visit http://www.ncreportcard.org.
put in the school name and it will give you a report card on the school. it tells how the school fared against the standards set foth by the school district and how it compares to otehr schools in the district as well as the state.
In regards to safe enighborhoods for you and your family. i found that the charlotte police webiste to be a great resource for potential clients. it gives you up to the date statitstics and facts about a particular neighborhood. Their website is http://charmeck.org/city/charlotte/cmpd/Pages/default.aspx.
Click on for your safety adn the crime reports. Put in the address and it will provide you ith current crime stats for that area and neighborhood.
Feel free to give me a call ro e-mail me if I cna be of any assisitance to you in your rental search...
