If there is a for rent sign I would suggest calling the number on the sign. However, if you think this property may be for rent but has no sign I can help you by contacting the owner to see if they are looking to rent it. If you need assistance finding a place I would be happy to help you. Feel free to contact me.

???? How did you find out that the house is for rent? Is it by an ad from a Realtor? If so, please contact the listing agent. I do not recommend anyone to try to chase the owner directly if he gave the listing to a real estate agent to represent him. I hope I you would contact whom ever post the ad, or list the property.
Ya gotta give us something to work with. Is there a property address? Phone number? No one can really help you on what to do unless there is more info provided. Make value of your time. Call me if you need help.
Does the home have a For Rent sign outside with a phone number? If it is not listed with a Real Estate Agent, you can simply ring the doorbell or do a reverse look-up in whitepages.com. If it is listed, contact the listing agent on the property.
Another great source of rentals is Trulia.com, Craigslist.com, and Realtor.com
