The place where you buy your home is the most important decision that you will make in your life. It is also a very personal decision. A neighborhood that you might like is a neighborhood that others will not like, and of course a neighborhood that others like may be a neighborhood that you will not like.,
The only way to find out if it is the right neighborhood for you and your family is to knock on the doors and meet and talk to the neighbors before you make your decision whether or not to buy a home in that neighborhood.

If you are unfamiliar with the area where you are planing on living,go by at different times of the day, do revisit more than once , possibly knock on the neighbors door or ask the people that work in that specific neighborhood.
We as Real estate professionals are prohibited from enticing or steering a buyer to purchase or not, in specific neighborhoods.
Hope this helps, also here are some sites that can help you with this question.
I suggest buyers knock on neighbors doors to ask their opinion, visit the local retail stores and ask the employees, and visit the neighborhood at all hours of the day, night, weekends, and plan to test drive your own commute both ways
