SAIC operates an off-campus housing service for it's students through Places4Students.com. You can find all of the information and rental listings on the SAIC off-campus housing page here: http://www.saic.edu/lifeatsaic/housingandresidencelife/off-c…

If it's for a short-term period you may want to look at sublet options, or find a landlord/property manager that has flexible lease terms. You can view the actual rental listings here: https://www.places4students.com/Places/School.aspx?SchoolID=…

Have you contacted student housing? It will be difficult to find housing in this price range. It would be best to look closer to the date of arrival as well since rental properties move quickly. Please feel free to contact me if you need further assistance in your search.

Kathy,

Contact the student housing as well. Often the student housing department has contacts with buildings.

I actually have an SAIC student moving here from New York who is in the same price range as you & would like to have a roommate or roommates, since there is very little available in that price zone. Also, short term rentals are very hard to come by & usually cost more. Contact me at 773-914-5309 or bbiederman@citypointrealty.com. Barbara Biederman, City Point Realty

Your best bet is to find someone who needs a roommate. At that price point, you can't rent much in Chicago. Good luck.

Only place to find this, is to find a site like kijiji or craigslist or some small website that has people subletting their property on there.
