I have No pets, No Children just a hard worker. I need to be as close to the GWB as possible or an easy commute to that location.

Thanks,

Hey Ms. Briggs,
I hate to tell you but what everyone else is telling you is true. It is next to impossible finding a one bedroom apartment in that range. Maybe if you increase your budget a bit, I can help you find a nice little apartment in Brooklyn, but certainly not in Manhattan.

thanks but I have no interest in Brooklyn apartments. I work in NJ and that commute is not worth the sacrifice nor the extra money.

Hello Ms. Briggs,

I agree with Sharon. Standard one bedrooms are priced higher than that. You may run across a rent stabilized unit every now and again that below market price but that's a needle in a haystack. In addition to considering a roommate, I would also suggest checking into the housing lotteries which could offer you more affordable options. Here's the link in case you need it. I wish you the very best in your search for a new home. http://www.nyc.gov/html/hpd/html/apartment/apartment.shtml

Thank you for your reply. I understand NYC living has a unrealistic medium but I refuse to put myself in debt trying by just trying to afford to live. I make 40K+ a year and if I can not pay my rent within one check, in my eyes I can not afford to live there.

This is not a realistic budget - maybe you should consider being a roommate with someone or renting a room.
