Is it legal for a landlord to sell the home you rent and not give you notice?

Asked by Pqklee, Bakersfield, CA Sat Apr 28, 2012

I have no current lease and are on a month- to - month. House was sold and the new owners have given us a 30 day notice to vacate stating they bought the home to live in?

NO. They still must give you the required notice. Anna Hernandez, realtor 661-809-3388

I'm no lawyer, nor do I sell houses, but every time I've rented a house, apt. condo or whatever after the lease expires it's automatically put into a month to month lease. Which by law requires only a 30 day notice to vacate or be asked to vacate. So regaurdless of owner or new owner they're only required to give you a 30 day notice.
