I'm looking for a rental property where I can also keep my two horses in the North Dallas area. How do you specify an acreage?

Your minimum acreage will need to be 2 acres (1 acre per large animal). My office is located in Wylie, and our area plus other surrounding small towns may be a good option for you. Additionally, we have several horse boarding facilities in our area if you end up looking at that option.

Feel free to call me at 214-418-0180 or Katrina at 214-244-3664. We would be happy to help you as you relocate to Texas.

Shartz: Not only is the deed restricyion requirement the most important part of your search, also finding a property that had enough grazing acreage is a challenge.

Northern Collin County, Eastern Denton County, or even Grayson county properties could work for you. Keep in mind only those proeprties that would not have deed restrictions would apply.

I realize you are wondering how you can search on your own, but I think you need the assistance of a realtor as we can specify acreage. Just looking in the MLS I see 2 properties that specify you can have horses - 1 in the McKinney area and 1 in Anna area. If you would like me to send you those listings give me a call or drop me a line.

You would be required to go to 2nd or 3rd trier cities to search for a property allowing horses.

It isn't the acreage that will necessarily be an issue, in N Dallas, it's the deed and zoning restrictions to "farm' animals. How are you defining "N Dallas"? How much do you want to spend a month on your lease? Need to narrow it down a bit to give you any good info.

Are you in the Market for just land to keep your horses or a rental home with land? I can set up a web portal for you of available properties direct from the MLS. MLS direct searches have a greater ability retrieve granular data that can be easily overlooked. There is no need to continue searching IDX sites like HotPads and Trulia. All the available properties for lease will be included in your Web portal if they are listed on the MLS. This site is updated every night to make sure you're always seeing current information, and any properties that are new or updated are automatically moved to the top of the list so you can check them out. If you are interested, email me at grant@granthowell.com.
