Hi Renee,
OMG! That sounds like a sorority house. You really need a 3 bedroom house for that many people. The Capitol Hill area has a kind of bohemian feel to it, but finding a house there in your range is a challenge in this market.

You can use Trulia's Rental Search. Just fill in the search parameters. I used the map feature and just filled in the number of bedrooms. I found these units that way:
http://www.trulia.com/rental/3035610216-Apartment-Denver-CO-80203
http://www.trulia.com/rental/3085241291-1433-Downing-St-3-De…

Just note they might not take that many. If they do, you might have to bring a larger deposit.

It is a hike. If you all have jobs and maybe a few bikes, that can work. I hear scooters work well, too.

You might have to adjust your sights, maybe look along the RTD line.

Good luck girls!

That's actually six total girls, which is a challenge.

The City of Denver prohibits more than 3 unrelated adults in one dwelling unit. It turns out that the Supreme Court has ruled that law unconstitutional, but it's still on the books.

On the other hand, the only way to get caught is for an annoyed neighbor to complain. If there are six cars, that might annoy the neighbors.

6 x $250 = $1500 is a realistic price, but most landlords won't go for the six people.

Padmapper.com is the quick way to search Craigslist, which is where 90% of the fresh listings are.

Try using rental sites like Rent.com, Hotpads.com, or craigslist. Be carefull, there are alot of rental scams out there. Be sure to meet the landlord in person, never send money thru the mail or internet. Good luck.

Renee Davis,

I am sure you are looking at Craigslist. That is usually a good option. Also check with the housing counselors on campus. They sometimes have connections with local landlords. 5 girls together? Good luck with that one. (:
